CFF HUNTSVILLE CANADIAN FILM GALA

The Canadian Film Fest comes to Muskoka!

The CFF Huntsville Canadian Film Gala will take place on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at the Algonquin Theatre.

This special evening celebrates independent Canadian cinema and marks the festival's official expansion into the Muskoka region. The night is generously sponsored by REEL CANADA.

The screening features two Canadian films from CFF's 2026 Closing Night programme. The feature is THE BEARDED GIRL, starring Anwen O'Driscoll (Netflix's BET) and Jessica Paré (MAD MEN), from writer-director Jody Wilson. It is preceded by the short film LEOPARD by Dan Abramovici.

Both filmmakers will be in attendance for a post-screening Q&A.

Scott Aitchison, MP for Parry Sound–Muskoka, will open the evening.

A reception in Founders Hall follows the screening.

Tickets are $10.00 with a 20% discount for students and seniors.

In addition to the screening, REEL CANADA and CFF are providing a free in-classroom workshop at Huntsville High School, where film and television professionals will lead practical exercises and discussions with students about careers in Canadian Film & TV.
