Two young women follow a trail of colourful stones left on the ground -- but it leads them to danger. They become trapped in the lair of the Mangittatuarjuk, the Gnawer of Rocks. The young women and their village must use the teachings of their elders to defeat the monster.

FINDING SHELTER follows Hanna, a 10-year old girl, who is about to be smuggled out of her war-torn country with her father on a boat. Despite her dad's instructions to leave her beloved dog behind, Hanna secretly clears her backpack and hides him in it instead. The remainder of the film follows the divergent journeys of Hanna and her dog, as they are challenged to survive the boat ride and journey upon arriving to their destination

As their relationship intensifies, she is forced to confront the blurred boundaries between reality and fantasy, pain and happiness.
