15min | Drama | World Premiere

’Nosocomephilia' is the story of Francis, a wealthy middle aged white woman deep in a state of ennui. When her housekeeper, Lily, collapses, Francis takes her to a private medical clinic and discovers that the physical touch of doctors brings her to a state of euphoria.

This new discovery transforms Francis ’ life, and she begins compulsively visiting and paying to see doctors. Initially the visits feel validating, but as her obsession intensifies, with each transaction, her body begins to decay as if a metaphor for the destruction of commodified healthcare. Francis spends all her money perpetuating a privatized healthcare system while others around her are refused care if they cannot pay.
